Views of Mt. Fuji from Tsurumi (and elsewhere)
View of Mt. Fuji from Building 6, Tsurumi University, taken through a window, on April 7, 2014. This image was zoomed and cropped, with added contrast.
The uncropped image.
From my iPhone while on the Keihin-Tohoku Line
On the morning train (JR Keihin-Tohoku Line) from Kawasaki to Tsurumi Station, if you stand near a door and look to the west as the train leaves Kawasaki, you can see Mt. Fuji for about 1 or 2 seconds on a clear day. Watch for it as you pass the hospital and the Canon factory. I took this using the video function of my iPhone, and then taking a screen capture. This is only possible in the winter or right after a typhoon, when the air is clear, and if you're lucky enough to have a clean window!
This screen capture is from the same video clip as the photo above it, but a couple of frames later. Fuji can be seen in the distance on the far left of the photo.
Various views of Mt. Fuji from Fuchu, Tokyo and elsewhere
I can see Mt. Fuji from the front door of my 7th floor apartment in Fuchu, Tokyo, so I often take photos of it on clear mornings or if there's an interesting sunset. Some of the photos in this album are with my iPhone, while others are with my Nikon digital camera.
